Point, considering the overwhelming majority of cars that came with those miserable 130hp boatanchors.

It interprets the readings from the oxygen sensor and a couple of other sensors to control ignition advance and fuel mixture on the Variable Venturi carb. Some cars also had an atmospheric pressure sensor to compensate for changes in altitude, and in that case the computer also monitored the reading from that.

So the short answer is yes?

Mind you, all I know about cop-car ignitions is that Greg bought a Hi-6 and Foxxymang bought a '78 truck Duraspark (I think) to replace whatever was there to start with.

I can most definitely and assuredly answer that question in the affirmative.

yeah, that would be the MCU. EEC II I think it is. Runs the egr, smog, and I think its got an output to tweak the timing on the dspark box but thats mostly it. It doesn't do all that much and you can usually unplug it without noticing much change.

The best fix for that system is to remove it. Foxxymang passed emissions without it IIRC, so why bother with it?

lol .... and I'm sure someone somewhere enjoys working on feedback Quadrajets. Doesn't mean a regular Quadrajet doesn't work better and run just as clean given the correct overall combination. :nana2:
