It's no mystery - the problem is certainly the owner
I swapped a JY ECM in out of a 85 TC, no change. I expect a phone call from the shop anytime now. An old Ford guy told me, once you check the other stuff, you change the ECM, there is no way to test a Ford ECM.
OT the TC I pulled the ECM from had air ride (converted, but all the parts there) and a k code rear, odo said 85k and 'looked' original. Would be >$85 out the door. I need a garage!

Well......
missed a bad connector :drug:
I figured it was something like that. But she's running great! The plugs were a bit fouled so the guy changed them. Price very fair imo.
Next up exhaust, and my good friends nephew just started at a local muffler shop ftw!

I didn't get to talk to the mech in person, a lady stayed late so I could pick it up. A quick look in the muffler shops' parking lot showed a new fusible link on the LH fender wheel well, probably a jumper. Once I get it back I'll figure it out and post.
On the phone the mech said when I was pushing the pins of the continuity tester into the wires it might have been enough to make contact in the connector. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Give that man a tip.
