    Turn key, release when starts.
    or
Turn key to run, press gas pedal down once, release, turn key, release when starts.

If engine is flooded hold gas pedal down while cranking until engine starts.

        LMAO!

My 85 TC's out in the parking lot. When I get a chance I'll grab the manual and scan it, it'll be the same.

hot weather you dont need to press the gas pedal down but is good if do so the car warms up properly.

in cold weather its a must to press the pedal down once then start the car. if you dont set the high idle choke in cold weather it's gonna run like it's dead on 4 cylinders.

Its really not that odd. If you've ever owned a car with a carburetor, its basically the same and partly for the same reason. Carbs you pump fuel in and set the high idle where on the CFI you're just engaging the high idle mechanism.

When mine was still cfi I never touched the pedal when starting it whether it be -10 or 90 out. Never had an issue.

That's too funny. I just found that page in the '85 owners' manual today. My CFI box needs a press on the gas before starting. I'm glad it's par for the course, that's one less problem to debug. :smirk:
