are all 19lb injectors created equal?

Are the ones living under the hood of my 95 any different than the ones I have from a Mk VII?

Would mixing the two sets up create problems? As in, I do my HO swap and find that one of my injectors is bad, can I throw in one of the 19lbers from the aero and carry on?

I just searched for your thread title

But that's not really an answer.
I'm curious myself, if explorer injectors and mustang injectors are the same?

From what Ive noticed in the junkyard, the older aluminum intake aeros have the old style injectors, i think 96-97 they went to the skinny 4-hole ones.

good to know, I was going to use the ones I have from Pete (he got them from a Lincoln I think) and find a shop to flow test them for me before I put em on.

Later ones are 4 hole, and atomize the fuel much more better-like. They can be mixed and matched but if you're replacing them, the later style are superior. I found a video on youtube somewhere demonstrating the difference between the old one-shot kind and the later 4 hole. The early style shoot fuel in a nearly straight line like a garden hose. The 4 hole pumped out something that looked more like a cloud of mist, which is what you want in the motor.

they look the same though, don't they? Or will you actually be able to see 4 pinpoint holes?

I was always under the assumption that the older 19's were the fatties like the sock lopo looking ones but with the orange hat..the newer ones were much skinnier.

did some more research: skinny ones are newer ones, and should still plug right in.
Some of the fat ones were 4-hole anyway; there were 3 generations of 'em, and gen2 and gen3 both were 3hole; just got to look up the part number I guess...

Yup; just got mine in the mail today.
Guess the explorer ones I put in, were of the older style anyway. That-- or someone put mustang injectors in an explorer intake. When did they switch to the 4hole design?

I keep on spending money on this rebuild, but $75 for NOS 4-hole injectors, not sketchy-ass old ones, I think I'll appreciate it. Installing them tonight, hopefully not too much trouble.

What kinds of lubes are safe for the injector o-rings, to make them pop into the intake easily?
