    Vent Windows

Hi Guys, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this question, if it isn't please move it to the proper one.

Aaaaaaaaanyway... I am looking for some new doors. I've lost interest in trying to fix the ones that I already have since they have so much rust. The only catch is I want vent windows. I haven't seen many doors with the vent windows in the front. So I'm contemplating swapping the vent windows from my doors to the doors that I would be putting on the car. I know it's possible to do. But has anyone actually done this and if so, how hard was it, and what did you have to do to do it? I'm not asking of anyone's opinion that I should just get rid of the vent windows (I like them, and I want to keep them on the new doors). Thanks in advance,
    ~John

I replaced a vent window in mine so I got a look at it all. Swapping one in would be pretty much like swapping in a 'sport' window.
You'll need the main glass and the vent, and maybe the window guide/felt stripping from the vent window door.
Putting in the vent will be easy with the glass out, just 4 screws holding it to the door/window frame.
Replacing the main glass should be the only hard part... fun with rivets!!!
The frame for the vent window serves as the new weatherstrip/window guide/channel.

And that felt, would be replaceable. Since the guides in mine aren't looking too hot yes?

LOL!!! Man, I'm planning on finding unvented doors to swap onto my '84 GM, 'cause I HATE those vents! They are INCREDIBLY NOISY at highway speeds, so they never get opened, and they mess up my plans for sport mirrors. Although, what's a "sport window"? Are those the little windows that look like vents, but are "roll up and down"? If so, what models had them?
