Today i cleaned up my fender supports. They were badly rusted. I used a wire brush (with handle, and on drill gun) as well as sand paper to remove every last spec of rust. Surprisingly they cleaned up fairly easily. After getting them down to the bare metal i wiped them down and sprayed three coats of primer, then three coats of black, the three coats of clear. They look amazing, i almost dont want to install them because they look that good. Pics of the final product tomorrow.

dude! You want to put the upper & TB on... the 85 with HO upperstuff on it is peppier than any stock box Ive driven!!!
You just gotta get the rest of the underhood cleaned up so its not such a contrast Thats why I didn't clean or paint anything Ive put on recently (upper was already blue) since the rest of my engine bay is grimy...

ok ok i will put it on. believe me i want my car to be faster..just sucks that all the goodies that will be going on it will looks 1ooX's better than whats on the cars already. It looks as if i will have to clean some stuff up under the hood. Istill have to get my egr spacer bored out. so i have time to clean up the dirty things.

The only damn reason i painted the upper intake was because i painted the fender supports.

High Output Upper Intake Installation and 90 TC Fan Shroud

Today my dad and i swapped out the upper intake, egr spacer and throttle body for high output goodness. the job went without a hitch till we started the car up and pressed the brakes and my p. side front brake line (where rubber hose meets metal hose) blew up. It looked like a shot of NOS was spraying under my fender. Very lucky it happened right at home not while i went out to test the new upper power lol. in fact i have been very lucky with brakes failing. After a 4 hour drive in my dads mustang we got it home int the garage and once we went into the garage the brake line blew. Once with my car getting it onto the inspection machine the line blew and now today just sitting in the drive way, just a mere 2 hours after i got home from school the line blew.

                Everything removed.

Guess i didnt have a brass one lol

                The new and old

                Another...where did it go pic

The ho upper, egr and tb

                A lopo and ho tb

                all installed

I also installed my fancy 90 TC fan shroud. My old shroud was warped for some reason and was hitting the fan on occasions.

Here is a shot of the brake hose fail.

And here is a shot of the car being embarrassed because it burst its brake lines.

To top everything off while heating up the proportioning valve (with a torch) my dad and i managed to melt the dummy brake light sensor thingy into the valve itself. oops. it turned out to be a 120 dollar mistake. We ordered it from Ford, local parts stores didnt even carry it. We also made new brake lines from the p. valve to the d,side and p.side calipers. (The brake line from p. valve to rear dif. and diff to drums was done over the summer). Now i have all fresh brake lines and can brake like a champ in confidence..well at least tomorrow when the p. valve will arrive.

and one more of the damn p. valve.

Got the proportioning valve today, and installed it. My car stops again lol. I also got to drive it! Just have to figure out why my idle is higher than normal.

                      The new proportioning valve.

                      Proportioning valve installed.

i just drove it around the block lol, but my dad drove it with me in it on the parkway and it definitely feels like its got something more we were really cruising pretty easily 95 plus on the speedo with little effort. The car is idling at 1100, as of now it used to idle around 700 or less. Monday i will drive the snot out of it going to school and back and give you guys a definitive answer.

While i was at Citi Field for some activities my dad fixed the idle. The hole in the butterfly of the HO tb was too large, causing my idle to be higher that usual. He did something to it to make the hole smaller so now my idle is back to where it should be.:woot:

it is a lot peppier than stock thats for sure. there was so much crud on the old intake and tb that it was definitely wasting some power. It feels pretty good with the ho upper stuff installed especially a good tb bushing
