What is that object with the PA Performance sticker?

(I dislike PA Performance after they failed to respond to my inquiry about a failed alternator)

You don't need that either though, just hook up the two little wires from the 3G to the right wires behind the dummy regulator and the 'battery' light will still work.
The wiring 'should' look similar to what i did for mine here, I had an external regulator on mine too:

green to green(may have a color stripe) and yellow to red(probably has a green stripe)

That's the external voltage regulator for the 1G alternator, sounds like he replaced his original with a 'dummy' unit with his kit to keep the wiring plug-and-play (for those skurred of wiring)

yeah... dummy unit for plug and play... since I like to lazy out when I can... but I did solder all the wiring for the electric fans (except for the quick disconnects on the fan harnesses). I even re-did the crimps to that MSD coil by removing said crimps and solding the wires back together. I particularly detest crimped wiring on stuff that runs the engine. Solder and shrink wrap FTW.

found out today from the guy working on my Mark's rear axle that it's probably got a posi 3.08. The clutches look almost brand new. one drum was cracked. both were out of round. both brake cylinders were leaky. the right side was spewing. The right axle seal was about gone. and the bearings were... yeah... not friendly. The shoes were also screwed. Lots more toasted in there than I thought... but then I didn't really dig deep to find it all either. He said the pumpkin and all it's guts look great though.

at least I'll feel safe to drive it now.

Now I'll find out for sure what the axle ratio is and then what the stock axle was and make sure the speedo gear is right in the trans. PITA! Thank God I have a garage to work in.

trac-lok 3.08 is a Z axle code. I has one. It's too tall, especially for a wagon, but I sure loves me a limited slip.

I'll get it up in the air this weekend probably and double check by rotating a tire and counting drive shaft revolutions. Considering the source... it's probably whatever gears were in the mustang that the engine was robbed from. The axle code is Y for an open 3.08... so it may just be a clutch pack add-on.

if I do change it... I'll probably just change the ring/pinion gears out for 3.55 or 3.73 gears.

replaced the ambient temperature sensor for the A/C in the Mark... panel vents work properly as well as getting heat now. I guess full on vacuum on the blend door forces "MAX Cool" or something.

got the new power, heated, thermometer mirror installed on the Mark VI.

                        Pics:

                        The old one coming off...

After I break this bastard strap...

                        New one on:

                        Other side:

                        and the thermometer works!

and this one does have a green back-light. The old one has an incandescent yellowish back-light. So a filter may have dissolved on the old one or it is just a different setup. I don't really care. I now have a stable mirror that I can use on the road.

Cool. Looks like the chrome is in nice shape too. I found a pair NOS on ebay with some minor scratching from poor packaging that I got for pretty damn cheap. The guy had 86- and 87+, with the 87+ being cheaper. Me being a tightwad bought the cheaper ones and re-pinned the connectors so it worked.

this one is absolutely spotless (well except for my fingerprints on it now). I ended up paying more for it though.
