Me thinks I am gonna have to buy some new tires. As much as I like 285s with 1" lowering springs they will blow out on first bump. Driver side barely has enough room for me to fit a finger and pass side rubs. I think I will get some 255s same as the front and call it a day. 265s and 275s are like a 100 bucks more and simply not worth it. Might have to cut another half a coil out of the front springs to bring the nose down more.

Rear end has been painted, reassembled and installed. 4.10 gears, 31 spline and new axles with carbon fiber clutches. CHE control arms and Watts link are also in.

Also, the exhaust will need some major refuckulating because it doesn't fit. Cats hit the tranny crossmember. Aero muffler hangers won't fit on a 03+ frame. Frame is different where the hangers mount.

The 285's always looked silly, as I've told Adam as well. 255's would be fine for on the street.

My 295s only fit because of the narrower old rear end. Not surprised 285s rub with the newer and wider axle. IMO something a little narrower will look better on those wheels anyway. Might even grip better.

Swapped front wheels over to the back and they fit quite nicely. I might massage the wheel openings around the top just a tad so they are pointing upwards more but otherwise plenty of clearance. Gonna order another pair of these and call it a day.

After test fitting the exhaust looks like it will be a clusterfuck to get it in there. Pretty much nothing fits. Cats are hitting the tranny crossmember, mufflers will need new hangers and tail pipes will need to be refuckulated where they go over the axle as the pass side is hitting the Watts linkage. The good thing is that it's the last piece of the puzzle before the car can be certified and plated.

Thanks for that hood release cable Zach and those side trim panels. I had to make a bracket to attach it the cable but the side panels went right in.

Is that a muffler hanging down in the first wheel pic in front of the tire? Also what's that flanged pipe hanging down behind the tire in that pic?

It's the exhaust out of 96' just chilling on the group. Flanged pipe in the back is one of the tail pipes chilling on the ground. I gotta redo it since it doesn't bolt on.

I took a closer look at the exhaust today and mocked it up roughly and looks like I will need to do less work than I initially expected. Weld up new muffler and tail pipe hangers and redo the cats.

I spent most of the weekend refuckulating the exhaust and it's finally done. At this point the only thing left to do to the drivetrain is to run a short piece of fuel hose to the EVAP canister and redo the intake pipe for the blower.

After I finished the exhaust I got a chance to take it for a spin around the block. It is so weird to drive this because it feels like you are driving a Whale but then look up and see the long nose of a box in front of you.

Oh and my new tires came in too. No more staggered look.

Other than body work list of things to do on this car is shrinking pretty quickly.

                          - install wiper tray (gotta determine if I I will install Aero/Whale unit or box)
                          - fix one of the turn signals
                          - figure out why license plate light isn't working
                          - patch up trunk floor around one of the body mounts that broke
                          - put the hood back on
                          - figure out why the airbag light is flashing

Check the wires at the driver side hinge of the trunk, they can get pinched and severed and the power wire to the license plate light is in there (at least on a 91 it is).

I have a 96' wire harness powering the whole car so it's probably something I dickered.

I went to test fit the Aero wiper motor today and it definitely won't fit. It will bolt up but the hood won't close. So that idea is getting scrapped. Perhaps you guys can help me figure out how to wire the box wiper motor to use 96' wiring harness. I am trying to find a wiring diagram for 85' motor and not having much luck. There are only 3 wires going to it so if I had to guess I would say high speed, low speed and ground. Can anyone confirm?

After doing some research it looks like I will need to find 86-91 wiper motor as it's same as 92+.
