Take the trim off, and leave it off. Except that which is needed to be there, like around windows.

What color is is being painted? Black is beautiful.

Black is beautiful, but for some reason with the black guts it would look awesome in silver.

It was silver originally. I am keeping it black though.

That is how you're supposed to jack it.

Chrome trim is staying. I don't want to fill any more holes in the body than I have to.

What do you guys use for replacement trunk lid seal? Can I yank one off a Whale or is it too short?

Fox body hatchback mustang seal. You will need to trim a couple inches.

Anything newer than a Fox body? Pretty sure that any Mustang that I find at a junkyard will be in as bad a shape as what I have now.

Probably can still buy a Stang one brand new.

I can buy a new one from Rock Auto listed for a Marquis as well.

There was a 90 MGM and an aero trunk to trunk at the junkyard a week or two ago so I test fit the aero trunk weather strip on the box. I don't remember if the aero was a CV or MGM, but the weatherstrip was maybe a foot or less too short on the box.

I'm not sure how the whales would compare but if they are the same as the aero perhaps you could use two good JY finds to make one good box trunk seal. The aero that I took that seal from had little metal barbs to hold the two ends together, I've never seen that on a box but they could be used to make one seal out of two without having two loose gaps.
