If you do install it... chuck the old one in the glove box. I need the case for another clock I have on hand here. I'm going to wire that one in to the truck somehow... one of these days... eventually.

Why would you want to install one of those dinky things in your truck? Tripminders in everything! All the wires make sense except this blue with red stripe on the old clock harness.

blue/red is illumination (I'm guessing the trigger for dimming the numbers.

the reason I'd put it in my truck is cause it doesn't have a clock at all and the radio doesn't either and there's no good spot to put anything in that dash. I'm just going to kind of make a pod for it.

Interesting. So then what's the brown wire for? I hooked that wire up and the tripminder dims with the lights on. However the value of dimming doesn't change.

in that case... it's backwards from what I was thinking (I haven't tested anything yet other than the fact that it keeps time). Brown must be the trigger while Illumination is the backlight... or would be a backlight. maybe I should open it again and trace the circuit board.

Wired in the fuel flow wire. There was a wire there. But I couldn't find any documentation of where that wire went besides the digital instrument cluster. So I ran a new wire. It's whatever. Tripminder is fully functional now.
