Default 2nd GMN CFI to SEFI swap

Well, I have most of the parts together... I was thinking about using Scott's proximity to spark the swap this weekend, but in looking through the 91 evtm to try and ID the wires at the "loose ends" of the ECM harness, I only ID'ed maybe 1/3 of the wires and got a huge headache.
I need to lay out the harness under the hood of the 85 and see what's what and where, and find wire colors that match.
I think this '91 harness is gonna be a lot different than the 87-89 type that FatNasty used, he only had to splice a couple wires for his. So if it looks like I can't make the 91 harness work easily I may go with the older harness.

I have most of the parts ready except for the o2 sensors, and I need to rig up some "T" for the ECT sensor in my heater hose nipple rig, since i wont be using the stock pipe bolted to the manifold.
Ive got injector seal kits (any way to bench test injectors?) all the other seals and gaskets, PCV parts, longer bolts for the phenolic spacer...
now i just need to figure out how to make it work!
Any progress on that write-up FatNasty??

I think I'd be looking for an earlier harness, more of the connectors are the same and parts are closer to being in the same spots.

The good thing is, since you already have the motor, you will be more EFI-like that FatNasty. Roller cam, and all...

Pete.... I still got the harness from my wrecked 88 MGM.

this was the harness I used to convert to MAF, then converted it back SD. so it's been worked on.

I need to lay it out and see if there any accident damage, but I dont remember any.

I still need to figure out the "start" circuit, but its only taken me 2 splices to get it running with this harness... one for the fuel pump, and the red/green "run" that you mentioned.
It's only run for a few seconds, since i still had the belt and water pump pulley off (I had to take the whole right acessory bracket loose to run the fuel line) I called it a night once I heard it run.

nice nice. Is it doing that shit where you lose ignition power when the key is in the 'start' position? I'm really thinking the actual ignition switch is slightly different in older models that causes that.

well most everything is buttoned up, now only one medium sized problem that doesnt seem to affect drivability.
    She runs well, very well...

Here's some eye candy for now untill i go into details - the pic should raise some questions, so blast away. Ill be making tech write-up too.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pic, but my camera doesnt seem to like flourescent light. There will be more pics, plus I still have to tidy up under there anyway, and install a couple more things.
This pic is as it sits after the end of a 3 day window I had to do this in... should be more "proper" by next weekend
