Hello to everyone. I've been a longtime lurker (I might have actually been a member of the forum at one time) but I recently came across pantera77's '89 Crown Vic on the site, and had to join, since mine and his look so much alike.
I'm Jimbo, and I'm from southwest Ohio. I'm 25, and have been spinning a wrench since I was 18. I've mainly worked as a lube tech, including a couple years at a Chevrolet Dealership and about 5 years as a manager at a Walmart Tire/Lube. I'm far from an expert, but I'm always learning and doing something new and different. And I'm not afraid to dive in and get dirty in a new project.
My Panther is an '88 LX that I've had for about 7 years. Had around 80,000 miles when I got it, and I've nearly doubled it. Got it from original owner, and it was in amazing condition. 7 years of on and off daily driver status has taken its toll, but it's still sharp, and I can't go anywhere without someone giving me some feedback. People aren't used to box Vics here, they usually end up in demo derbies around these parts
I havn't done much to the motor, aside from a "warm air" intake tube and converting (hacksawing) to an open exhaust with exits in front of the rear wheels. I'm into LED lighting, I've already converted the speedo and HVAC controls to blue LEDs, and I also have blue illumination on the inside floorboards.

This is my project. It's a '73 Thunderbird. It does not have a motor in it currently. I more or less inherited the car and a bunch of parts with it. It's been off the road for about 15 years. I have a Jasper 460 with a bunch of bolt on goodies (including an Edelbrock Performer cam and intake package), but it's a big project that I've never had any experience with. That, and the motor and parts have been trash bagged for years, without spark plugs, and oil filter, or other parts intalled, and surface rust is everywhere! (if anyone has an knowledge dealing with this issue, please PM me!)
