    H.O. upgrade coming soon...

hello there gentlemen, its been a long time since ive posted anything in here. my last thread was the 'massive vibrations' and it turned out that it was the u-joints you guys had determined.

well now like most of you im plannin on doing the HO swap and im slowly getting all the parts necessary to do this. i have both upper/lower intakes from my buddy's '91 mustang lx for a cool $20 and just got back from the junkyard a lil while ago and got the 60mm throttle body off a linc mark vii. ill read all your guys' posts on here and make sure i have everything i need.

here are some pics of the junkyard i go to and some cars they have there. they have a lot of cv's, wagons, towncars, grand marqs, and a few linc mark vii's. if you guys need anything let me know and ill go check to see if they have it and ill let u know for how much. enjoy the pics (hopefully im posting these in the proper place lol)

are you still planning on doing the heads/cam/headers?
if you do the headers, I'd recommend getting some BBK 1 5/8" shorties instead of the stock HO headers.

I got my heads totally recasted/cleaned up and ported for $750.
it wouldn't hurt to get a 2000 stall torque converter and a shift kit to beef up the drivetrain.
If you haven't thought about it already, I'd reccommend spending the money to put in 3.55's or 3.73's for a rear Ring and Pinion ratio. Costly, but most gratifying.

the exhaust is already done. bbk headers, 2.5in. free flow exhaust, flowmaster 40's, dual exhaust and 3in. slant cut rolled edge tips. no cats and no O2 sensors.
rear gears are stock, but i already bought both 3.55 ring and pinion gears. waiting on doing that b/c i have to get a rear end rebuild kit. pinion seal is leaking. already put in a posi-trac rebuild kit and im doing my burnouts with both tires, SWEET!

As long as its not from an 86 Mark VII it should be OK. The actual throttle plate inside is what you want to measure. Another way to tell is to look at the part where the throttle cables hook up. If its got 2 peg looking things for cables to hook on, its an 86 part. If its got one peg and one hole, its an 87-91 part. You can still use the 86 part, its just a little smaller.

87-91 throttle body is bigger than the 86 one-year only part. 60mm vs 58mm or something.
