I think about .045" or so is factory spec, but I normally run 'em at 0.050" just to get the spark a little hotter.

Here's the one I've used. The inner bolt screws into a threaded insert/adapter that in turn screws into the crank (note the selection of 8 adapters), while the outer bolt turns against the big nut to pull the balancer onto the crank snout. The big bushing has bearings inside it to reduce friction, though I think I've generally done without it.

I allready drained half hehe. Im tired and got fed up with finding the right size socket for the other drain plug )

Was more concerned about water going into the water pump. due to the fresh gasket hehe.

no big deal as long as you tightened the clamps up where it was leaking. You probably did some good by letting the air burp out of the engine as it was being filled.

If it was leaking at the bypass hose, and you tightened it up and that took care of the leak, you have nothing to fear.

And why do you want to drain just half the oil? Just change the whole mess.

the ones I've seen are just a longer bolt with a washer. useful on some engines where the bolt isn't long enough to get enough threads without stripping them. As long as you have the bolt threaded in far enough, usually its fine, but if its only in there a turn or two, thats a fast way to screw up a crankshaft.

Think that's what we used when the car was in the shop to put it on. after we started the bolt up to a certain point of course. Real easy.
