Cool. ill try to find a little part's store have split loom?

    OK heres the newest update.

Got my little leak fixed woohoo! hehe. mang's it's a pita to do imo as well. i took the egr apart ( did i even mention how big a pita that is it's self?) and then i had enuff room to get my big ol hands down there.the old tube really didnt like the pressure from this new wp. cause i just preety much sploded off right after the clamp at the base..

Anyways. i wound up useing a hug extension to break the nut loose and actualy take it off by hand. And thanks to Pete Mang, and another mang. I allready had my pipe plug for it!

Over all took about 2 hours to do. maybey three. far to long imo for one nut/bolt etc...

Ok. Another problem i came across now is.Either A. i have a weak battery or B i dont have a wire put on correctly on my small ass alt. Ima look for some pic's of peoples Alternators ( Stock one ) to see if i put my little screw wire back on right :P.

Im hoping it's the bat. Im planing on getting a new Alt. but bills are pilling up on me from the past two months and i need to get that taken care of asap.

    THANKS MANGS!

Ok, im about 90% sure now that it is my bat, and not my alt. Put a brandy new one in it. ( One of my roomies had laying around ) and it fired up just fine then after sitting for 30 min's with the key on radio blaring etc. even the lights on!. she fired right up!.

So this is good hehe. I poped my tabs also on my bat and the water levels where low on a few cells so i added some more. And now i have it on a charger.

Speaking of bat's and what not. Has anyone made a write up on how to check the Alt?

And would it be to much to ask if anyone with the same type of car for me. Could snap a pic of the back of there Alternator wire set up so i can just double check to be sure i have my wires correct?

Can't personally help with pictures, but here's a schematic I drew up one day. Tiggie has a scan of one of his nice manuals ... come to think of it, I probably have a copy of that somewhere too .....

Anyway, my personal best test of a functioning charging system is whether the voltage across the battery with the engine running is over 14. When my 1G regulator went bad, I got a weird pulsating thing happening, even though there was just enough juice for things to stay charged. There are probably better home tests, though, if you don't have an AutoZone or Advance within convenient driving distance.

as long as the voltage is higher with the motor running than not, the alternator is doing something. should be around 14-14.5 volts. if you want to see if its actually making some current, turn everything on (lights, heater fan, defrost, whatever) and check the voltage again. It should be at least 12. If the battery is real low, the alternator will make a whirring noise while it charges. Just make sure its not getting super hot or anything. If its hot enough to burn you, theres somethin wrong.

hehe, cool done that and it made a little noise and the umm engine idled down a bit or up eh one or the two hehe. And the alt didnt get hot yay. just a bad volt reader hehe. Thanks Gadget mang.

And a bad bat. Ima get that fixed asap though.

OOOOOOO, did i mention there is no gasket at all on the EGR where you take it off? There is evadence of glue where i took the egr off but thats it hehe.

How many gaskets are there for it anyone know?

Three gaskets total on the EGR spacer, I think - one on the EGR valve flange, one on the intake manifold side, and one on the carb/throttle body side.

on the cfi i think there is one between the valve and the cooler thing, and another between the cooler and the spacer under the cfi unit itself. not all cars have the cooler thing.

                    :-? Im confused now... hehe.

                    Is it two or three?

I know the only thing's which where separated where the water colore thing and the egr thingy hehe ( Looks like a speaker.)

So that mean i need just the two?

you only need the gasket between the egr valve and the cooler if thats all that was seperated.

dont think so. the egr gasket is a special graphite material because it gets pretty hot.

Ima tell him i need the gasket for the egr valve and the cooler and the space. Hopefully he will be able to understand the words coming out of my mouth.

Could try Permatex Ultra Copper. Comes in both a tube and a spray can. I've been using a little bit of that stuff on my copper exhaust gaskets just for good measure, and it seems to hold up great.

                                Bit of a rant.

Ok, so anyways i went to my part's house ( Local ) ( Same place i bought the bloody EGR sensor..) Anyways, he said he didnt have them and would half to order it. Well im still waiting for an oversize plug to come in that he ordered a year ago!.

I really think ima quit doing all bizness with him, even fuel.

Anyways, next stop later will be Napa for them gaskets. At least ill know if i order it, it will come the next bloody day!. hehehe.

Not really to bad of a rant now was it?

O, and this is what i told him i needed.. Not sure if i worded it right myself..

"Need a gasket for the egr - valve ( - ='s to the) and from the egr cooler - spacer."

                                That is correct isnt it?
