    -20 makes for a rough start....

    Who would of thought huh.
    So no work today. LMAO
    Hopefully it will warm up enough later to start my car. But then again I don't really need to go anywhere.


    Also will starter fluid hurt anything in my CFI 5.0?
    I read some where that it wasn't recpmended to use in Fuel Injected cars, but I am not aware about TBI.

    I don't think a small shot of Ether will hurt your car. Some injected motors have plstic intake plenums, wich can be harmed by starter fluid, yours doesn't.

      Nah, starting fluid is fine. We had to start my mom's '85 Grand Marquis with starting fluid for awhile when the TPS was bad and we hadn't diagnosed it yet. We did that many times and it was never a problem.

            Just don't use too much. We only use a 1 - 2 sec. burst with the big trucks and they have 6 feet of intake.
            89 CV LX 225/60 x 16 tires, CC819 rear springs, Front & rear sway bar, trans & PS cooler from 90 cop car. KYB shocks, F-150 on rear. Dual Exhaust w/ H pipe. Dark brown door panels, carpet, steering wheel, trim parts from a 87 Mer GM. Power front buckets from 96 Jeep Cherokee. LED'S front & rear. 3G Alt from a 97 Taurus wagon 3.0. Electric fan. Rear axle from a 97 PI 3.27 with disk brakes. Headlight relays.

              It'll be fine as long as you spray it into the throttle body, not soak the air filter like I've seen some people do. No, I don't understand what the intention was but I can tell you it makes a real neat fireball on top of the motor if it backfires.

                I have tried starter fluid before, but I can find the fill hole in the starter.
                Vehicle: 1965 Pontiac Catalina (fastback 2+2)
                Chasis: 1982 Ford LTD Country Squire
                Drivetrain: 302 V8 carb, AOD, 8.8 with 3.08 gears.
                Big Brake swap and front suspension completed.

                        Ha ha, seriously though. Up north in the cold, and testing cars with bad fuel systems, I have never seen starter fluid hurt anything. Unless you use too much. You could get some backfire through the carb. Definitly do not saturate the air clearner. I heard that starter fluid is only bad for deisels. just make sure you have some stopper fluid handy incase you use too much.

                          Yeah same here, my 85 TC had same prob with TPS, so I had to use a bit of starting fluid.
