    The 91 LIVES!!!

    I finaly swaped the carb on the 91 LTD yesterday and that made all the differace. The car wold not start on it's own when it was cold and after it started it would fall on it's face if I gave it any gas. With a replacement VV from P72Ford it runs much better but there is still a little tuneing to do. It's still a little sluggish off the line but it's starts on the first try and runs alot smother.

    Ok, I have a question. When I did the carb swap the TV cable went into the carb linkage as planed but it's loose in the mount. It won't come out but it's kinda floping around in there and I don't think thats right. Pics to follow tomorrow.

    Will this affect the tranny or should I just deal with it?

      I am not sure, but i don't believe it should be floppy. I heard that can lead to premature wear on your transmission.

        better to not risk it... maybe you can find a grommet with a smaller inner hole?

          what's the difference between the VV carb that was originally on the car with this one? Different spacing? Did you somehow unintentionally loosen the tv cable? It shouldn't be floppy mang. Nor should it be super tight, it should be firm.

            I did not change the adjustment on the cable. What I mean is the mount hole in the new carb is larger than the hole on the old carb so it's loose in the mount. It's not a tight fit. When I removed the cable from the old carb all I did was remove the small cotter pin and slide the cable out of the mount.

              P72Ford's 351W was one of the 0-of-120-produced twin-turbo VV-carbed cars.
