I wouldn't think so, but this happened tonight. Of course I know just because you do 'something' and a problem goes away, it doesn't necessarily mean it fixed it.
So tonight, on a 'date' no less (how embarrassing), the 85 doesn't want to start after getting some fine Mexican food.
No spark... the EEC relay was clicking on, but pulling the coil wire off with enough room to arc produced nothing. While cursing that fancy looking mystery coil I installed, I fished around in the trunk for the old OE one, and didn't find it. So I gave the fancy one a couple love taps and she started right up.
In case of coincidence, I'll also be carrying a couple used TFI modules and the module tool in that car, along with the old coil.
If its not either of those its got to be the PIP sensor in the distributor right?
I think the 85 is mad at me, for having to think twice before taking her out for the date.
