Motorcraft Fuel Filter - No clips (PN: FG1060)

    Hey Guys,

So I picked up a Fuel filter for my '89 CV (FG1060) from RockAuto and when it came it was missing the clips that are usually there when replacing the fuel filter. I sent RockAuto a message asking where I could get the clips because the fuel filter I received didn't have one and they sent out another filter (Free of charge! Awesome).

The new filer arrived and it also is missing the clips. My friend picked up a Fram for his car (an '83 CV) and it came with the clips. I just checked SummitRacing and they list that the Motorcraft filter doesn't come with the clips. (Link)

Anyone have any idea where I can get these clips now? Or should I attempt to reuse the ones that are on the car? (And I guess I'm SOL if they break...?) Or should I just buy a Fram for myself?

    Thanks!

If the old ones didn't, break, you can re-use them. If they did, you can find new clips in the HELP section of most auto parts stores.

Yeah I had the same problem. I know for sure that oreillys has them in the help section. Take a clip with you because there's different sizes for different cars. I think they are like $3 for a 2 pack.

Don't leave my filters on for over a year or so. Therefore I re-use the old ones. Then when I get a new filter, I store the new clips as extras as one never knows what one will find (or not find) in a new package!!

On my GM I had broken clips and I broke the new ones so I cut the fuel line on both sides and put high pressure hose on there with hose clamps. No leaks.
