Front and rear sway bars are box-panther specific if you want it to bolt right up.

Boxes going back to 79 had sway bars and an option with the towing package, unless you got a P72 it which case they came with sway bars anyways. I'd suggest looking for a 1" PI rear bar and a wagon front bar. The wagon front bar weighs less that the PI front, and I think it's stronger too since it's hollow.

what he said. Basically on a box you need bars from a box.

But...I'm pretty sure what he posted was right....the part about whether the wagon bar was stronger than the P72 bar is stronger is debatable, but wasn't the rest of it basically right?

Well not to be a dick, but why didn't you post the info yerself then, before him?

Dude, it's called common knowledge - that info has been repeated so many times on this site that he probably has it written down somewhere for future reference when HE needs it, so why not be helpful and post it when SOMEONE ELSE needs it too?

In addition to that there are two sizes rear sway bars that are direct bolt-on to a box Panther, one being the 1" PI swaybar Dan mentioned, and another one being 3/4" or so, don't remember exactly right now and it's way too damn cold to crawl under the TownieCar to measure it up. As for fronts, you can have at least three sizes - 1" (don't remember solid or hollow), 1 1/8" solid bar (usually found on cop cars and some tow cars), and the 1 3/16" hollow bar Dan mentioned usually found on wagons. The wagon bar theoretically is stiffer than the PI bar, but I don't think anyone here has run torsion test to verify that, so it's a safe assumtion that PI solid bars and wagon hollow bars performance is comparable. The PI bar will handle more physical abuse, wagon bar is lighter, take yer pick based on what you need.

Scott, what if he gets creative with the end links - can't he bolt the 92-02 front bar to the LCAs then?

i think the geometry with the newer type bar is a bit off. Might be able to make it work but I don't think the endlinks are going to allow it to flex right.

Thain, I was thinking of them endlinks that got a ball joint on one end, and the straight rod on the other. Alternatively just a heim-joint with a 1/2 grade-8 rod, a spacer sleeve like box Panthers use, and some poly bushings where it attaches to the LCA... Then again, how fat are the Aero swaybars anyways, are they even worth that much extra effort?
