    Chewed Wires

Alrighty, finally got some pictures of the split wires, with various other wires in the area nibbled and chewed on...

What do they do and do they require immediate attention, or can I still drive Cherry?

Thats emissions BS for the thermactor (solenoids), I believe. I removed all that crap on the burnout machine, and it still runs fine. There are vacuum lines there (a green, a red, a white, and a black, IIRC) too; make sure none of those were nibbled, causing a vacuum leak.

As for the other wires, I'd electrical tape them up and drive it, if you must right now. Otherwise, take the time and piece it back together with new wires. You don't need an operational emissions system to drive it, as far as I know.

tape the wires up, its drivable but if they do anything other than an idle test, you'll almost certainly fail for NOx. Probably be able to get through an idle test even without it. Just make sure the wires are taped off, those red ones are +12v and run off the ECM power supply. If they short out, the fuse link that powers the computer will blow and everything will die.

Cherry passed emissions! Wires are taped up, ran that "Guaranteed to Pass" stuff through her, and drove her for a good bit before going to the test. They put her on the treadmill and her results are pretty good.

thats amazing - the single one is the EGR solenoid and it looks like the wires are completely chewed... meaning it passed with no EGR...!
