Where the hell is this wire? (Tripminder)

After giving up on my A/C problem, I thought I'd instal the tripminder I just got from monterey62. Dash pieces everywhere, cluster out, where the hel is the connector for the dash light dimmer that the EVTM says is in the harness to the right of the column. It is a one wire brown connector with a lightblue/red strip wire.........

Its gonna be taped up to another wire harness so you wont see it dangling anywhere. You can tap into the one for the ashtray light, or if you can find the bulb socket in the clock wiring (if you have one there, it would be for the analog clock)

Thanks, I thought about the analog clock wire since it is right there, and in the same circuit. next question... I found the speed sensor connector to the cruise module, but it has two wires in, two out. Do I have to run a wire to pin 34 of the ECM? I thought 86s had the wire there already, although I couldn't fine connector 1431, just 1430

You may have to add the wire to pin 34. Some had it, some did not. I think the fuel flow wire is under the hood right near the ECM connector, least thats where it lives on Lincolns.

I seem to remember some tripminder related connector living above the instrument cluster, taped down to the harness. That might be a later model thing though. One of the connectors is actually the clock plug I think, or at least I vaguely remember plugging some connector that came off the clock into the tripminder harness, then stringing some more wires through the car. I also remember bleeding. This experience was mostly blotted from memory because it sucked.

The fuel flow wire is under the hood right behind the cruise servo. It has a black 2 pin connector but only the one wire going to it. i will be posting pics for other 86-87 guys to help locate this stuff if you ever install one
