LED stop/turn signal bulbs

Are evolving still at an alarming rate and Ebay seems to be the only source for them (good ones)
The new style all use "flat" LEDs instead of the traditional bullet shaped LEDs
Just search for your bulb number, "LED", and your color of choice and you will find all sorts of them.
They work great in our cars and only require an electronic flasher to replace the thermal one for boxes and aeros with no LCM.

Below are the ones I currently use, they have 18 LEDs... next will be some even newer ones that I plan to try very very soon

these have three of the one watt uber LEDs on the end - Id be more excited if they were on the sides where they are needed.....

I should add that you want to match the color of the bulb to the color of your lense - red behind red lenses and amber behind amber. White bulbs dont work as well because its really a blue-white and a lot of it will get filtered out through a red or amber lense. When you match colors, all of the light gets through.
Incandescent bulbs put out a lot of yellow-orange light so plenty gets through with them.

search eBay for "28 LED 1157 red" and find out!

I dunno about airport bright, but they are bound to be better than the 18-LED which tickle my fancy just fine mmmmm....

Might have to look into them...What are the blub numbers for the taillights of an 88 box?

LCM...How can I check to see if I have a thermal flasher or electronic one?

hhmm not sure when the change was, it will be either 1157 or 3157.
You definitly dont have an LCM, and probably have a thermal flasher unless you have the tow package maybe.

I hear a lot of horror stories from modular drivers on CVN about LED replacements, poor suckers

Be careful when it comes to what bulb your car uses. I work at a parts store and for some reason every listing they could find said my truck used 3157 for its parking light. It was a good thing I changed them in the parking lot because they were 1157s. To find out what you have, just take out the bulb and look. It should say on the metal base somewhere.

EDIT: Also, for those who have clear turn signals, I suppose we can get away with white bulbs since the amber color in the signal is provided by amber bulbs. :led:

Can't get away with white turn/marker lights here, legally its gotta be amber light one way or another.
And yea, just ask for an electronic flasher for your year and youll get one that plugs right in place.

bulbs evolved some more... these are all for newer panthers 3157 style bulbs but these types exist in 1157 Im sure
