1988 Crown Victoria Instrument panel lights. Need LED's, way too dim

I can barely read my speedo and everything else in the instrument cluster at night, and I want to get rid of whatever bulbs are in there and replace them with LED's. Problem is I dunno where the damn things. We dont have any led bulbs in our gay ricer aisle at work. Also,i dont want to tear the dash apart to see what number the bulbs are. Anyone know what I should get?

I think the blue leds I have are 194's I wanna say just ask pete he would know

yep search eBay for "194 led 5" and you'll find what I used in mine.

I take it the 194 is the type of *socket* the bulb has. Is it confirmed that these bulbs will fit all box dash clusters? I am trying to hunt down some green(ish) ones to keep the stock look.

194's are small bulbs that look like peanuts. They are in the marker lights in all my vics also. Quite a commonly used bulb. How many are in the instrment cluster?

It will be 2 or 4 for the backlighting. Chances are if you don't have low oil and low fuel lights, it'll be 2. I'd order extras anyway cause you'll find spots for them, like the temp controls, dome light, glove box....

If you get them from ebay, get 'em from the dude in Hong Kong. jp somethin or other. Best place to get them.

194 is the type of bulb - yes they fit all panthers but 1990+ has different color filters in the cluster that you cant easily remove, so white ones would be your best bet for those.

clock/heater controll, yes! a few of us have them swapped with LED bulbs already, they look
Underdash lights for you, no. for 90? to 91.. yes. Buy thats nothing some simple wiring cant change.

this is the 91 with the 5-LED 194 bulb replacmenets in the doors and stock courtesey light fixtures. The camera doesnt pick up the floors too good but its a nice filling ambient glow. If you wanted it really bright, you could put 906 type bulb 9-LED replacements in there too I havent bought any of those yet...
