    vent window hardware

    anybody know what hardware i need to reattach the lock/handle on my vent window? someone forced it open from the inside without unlocking it first. i think i have all the inside pieces but the outside hardware is gone. thanks

      dont have a card reader to download pics right now. but what he did was twist the handle/knob without pressing the little lock release arm(lack of a better word) . the outside nut and round cover that secures the handle must have fell roadside. its gotta be some kinda funny shaped nut or..... cause the way it has to reach through the glass to attach to the screw which is made into the handle. i have a plastic license plate fastner (little square spreading nut) holding it in right now but it barely holds and looks like shit. afraid to take off drivers side and maybe mess it up to see what should be there. appreciate the help. and i hope to get a memory card reader soon(few choices for my setup) and post a pic of Ruby. shes a little rugged but we love her.

        I tried to fix mine... and failed. wound up replaceing the whole vent. what side you need? I have a driver side 4 sale...

          He needs a passenger side mirror I think. To see how it works, go to a junkyard and play around with the vent windows on a junker.

              Like 86VickyLX said go to the u-pull & pay and take stuff apart to see how it works. Best place to see how things come apart.
              89 CV LX 225/60 x 16 tires, CC819 rear springs, Front & rear sway bar, trans & PS cooler from 90 cop car. KYB shocks, F-150 on rear. Dual Exhaust w/ H pipe. Dark brown door panels, carpet, steering wheel, trim parts from a 87 Mer GM. Power front buckets from 96 Jeep Cherokee. LED'S front & rear. 3G Alt from a 97 Taurus wagon 3.0. Electric fan.
