yes it IS EFI - CFI is a type of EFI
CFI is electronic, it delivers fuel and its injections, there for CFI can be grouped into the larger category of EFI.

I don't know about it being a Ford idea, as my 1984 Celebrity had CFI. I can't remember what Chevy called it, but it was CFI in functionality.Back in the saddle again!
