Hey all.
Decided it was time to stop perusing the forum without posting anything useful. Not to say this thread will be particularly useful.
Recently bought a 1991 Colony Park wagon to replace a 1990 Cutlass Ciera Int'l. It has the towing package which comprises 371s, stiff-as-hell springs, and some sort air compressor whose function I have yet to determine.
The car is just about pristine with a broken odometer reading just shy of 110k. Needs exhaust work (well, it needs an exhaust) which will happen sometime this month, I hope.
Will post pics when I actually take some that are decent enough to put online. Weather was crap when I bought it early December and hasn't improved much here in Michigan.
A couple of questions I could not answer for myself using the forum, but I'm new and stuff, so please don't hurt me.
1. How do I replace the bulbs in the coach lamps on the B-pillars? I cannot for the life of me work it out. Couldn't sort it on my mom's '89 GM and I can't figure it on my GMCP.
2. What might the air compressor do? It has proper springs in back, but the shocks might be air. Haven't had the chance to really look at it, but that might explain the extraordinary bouncing when going over washboard roads.
3. (Loaded question) Since I have no exhaust, I went to the junkyard and pulled the H-pipe and tails from a 5.0 Town Car. Since the TC is longer overall with a slightly longer wheelbase, where do they make up for the difference in the exhaust length, and how will this make my life difficult?
Thanks in advance for any responses. I'll slowly work my way into the community and figure out the site enough to become relatively self-sufficient.
I'm excited for this project that is also my daily driver, since this is the car I have lusted for since I was 5 years old.
