    BIG BRAKE SWAP

    The time has come. I have all my new parts and all my fixed up used parts. My car is up in the air and my front suspension has been REMOVED. Pictures coming soon. This includes the master and the power booster.
    Vehicle: 1965 Pontiac Catalina (fastback 2+2)
    Chasis: 1982 Ford LTD Country Squire
    Drivetrain: 302 V8 carb, AOD, 8.8 with 3.08 gears.
    Big Brake swap and front suspension completed.

    Tear down and prep.

    Ok, I did'nt take any pictures of the tear down because its the boring part. Everyone knows what old rusty parts look like. Here are pictures of the car ready for its new parts, the old parts I removed, and the first group of parts Im going to be putting in.

    79-02 lower control arm. cleaned and painted with new (96-02) ball joint and bump stop.
    Wagon springs with half a coil cut off. painted.
    Poly bushings.
    Gas-a-just shocks.

          1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
          2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
          1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
          1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
          2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
          1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

                  Yup. Best thing I have ever done. I get to drive an old classic with all the benifits of a panther. Panther frame, suspension, power steering, 8.8 rear end, engine, and O/D transmission. All parts are available and cheap unless it is body stuff. Please let me know if you see anything wrong or have any advice while I do this and post more pictures. I taking my time with this. Plus I have been busy at work so theres little time from the get go.

                      Find his Reader's Rides thread... he's using the stock LTD interior too. He shaped it all to fit his car perfectly. It's awesome!

                        in all fairness, it took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on too, when I saw the pictures he posted.

                          Next up.

                          Lower control arms, shocks, and springs are in. Next up are the upper control arms and upper ball joints. Poly bushings. See pics.

                            DONE! Well, almost.

                            All I need now is a good bleeding and some temporary 16 inch rims with tires from the junk yard to get me back on the road. After the swap I have a BAD toe-in situation. Im gona eye ball it for now so I can get it to the shop for an alignment. See pics.
