1979 Ford LTD, barn find FTW

So if any of you remember reading a thread I posted discussing the possibility of a 351 Cleveland swap, you'll probably recall that I mentioned that we would have been getting it from a farmer that my dad knows that we were wiring an addition for. Well, after finishing the wiring, we had decided against the motor, and were looking for other compensation. He mentioned in one of his barns he had a 79 LTD, so we went and looked at it, and were pleased to discover a moderately well kept LTD just a-sitting.

Asked him how much he wanted for it, and told us to just take it, along with a '71 302 sitting around in good condition. Wheeled it back home yesterday to the chagrin of the neighbors.

haha, soon enough. I'm taking summer courses but generally on the weekends I'm free.

As for the car, I'll be working on it this weekend. I'll be sure to take pictures.

                You can't beat that price!!!

Reminds me of one I use to own.

Even after my GF managed to bend the left real axle, it ran great.

Full Vinyl top, from what I could gather. However, it's gotten kind of bare in spots, was thinking about doing a slicktop conversion. Or maybe redoing the vinyl..my guess is slicktop would be cheaper.

Awesome!!! And a decent foudation for a motor to boot. This looks to be a nice little project.

Every neighborhood seems to have one or two crappy neighbors who think they run the town. You probably have figured this out by now; build the crap outta that car so that it steals all of the attention from the BMW and Audi posers.

vinyl will be somewhere under 1000 assuming no rust issues. Slicktop will require significant bodywork, there are unfinished seams lurking under the vinyl.

After some more work, removed the headliner, vacuumed the floor, shined up the vinyl on the seats. Gonna prep the car for the slick top conversion here soon.
