Effects of unhooking PCV

What would happen if I unhooked my PCV, and plugged the vac line for it? Anything major, besides more pollution?

Oil burnage... positive (or maybe it's negative) pressure inside the crankcase. PCV isn't an emisisons device, it's a crankcase ventalation device. You can spit out intake gaskets disabling it. The valve itself isn't too expensive to get a new one and the hose can be any kinda standard rubber hose.

The thing works okay, I was just wondering if it was a necessary componant. I only say this, because my 62 GMC didn't have a PCV system at all, just a road draft tube. But of course, this ain't no 62 GMC either.

you dont need it - they make breathers that pop into that hole, so the crankcase will still ventilate you'll just have to change the filter now and then, or more often if you have ring blowby.

leave the pcv valve operational it doesent hinder anything or rob power, but who wants an oily mess on the valve cover......i sure dont
