Anyway I can tell for sure? The only way I've been able to tell is my tripminder and my fuel gauge. When it's on E I've used about 16 gallons of fuel.Comment

drive the car until it runs out of gas, and it'll take about 18. There is usually some reserve capacity in the tank once you hit E. Under normal circumstances, it'll probably never take much more than 16.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

When I bought my 91' it was on "E".....went to fill it up.....only took 16 gallons......so I was like WTF!!.....great the guage ain't accurate.
......Then I looked in the owners manual.
