    So no performance improvements?

Oh yes, the formula for doing it the most convenientest way if performance isn't a concern ...

    '86-'93 Mustang tubular manifolds
    '86-'93 Mustang crossover pipe assembly
S-10 midpipes, Walker PN 43281 or something, they're 2.25" and nice and convenient
    Stock Caprice mufflers, they're 19" case, offset/offset, 2.25" in and 2" out
    Stock Panther tailpipes

for cheap good mufflers i like thrush turbos.....last set i bought was around 50 bucks a pr........the thrush welded turbos are around 70 bucks a pair and they also sound decent
I have thrush welded on my 97, duals with an h-pipe, 2 inch piping no reasonators or back cats just the cats off the manifold, sounds really deep and powerful.

Aren't those the flange gaskets for immediately after the CATs?

Yea!! Flowmasters would be the best in my book. I was stuck between the 4o's and the super 40's. I chose the super 40's becasue they have a deeper tone. However, I sometimes regret not getting the 40's with that typical flowmaster sound. I mean mine have that flowmaster sound but not as loud. They are big time directional though because of the baffles. I agree with the above message that magnaflows have a better idle sound. Just PLEASE dont get glass packs. what a waste!

                  1. Glasspacks? Agreed. If you put them on a low-powered car, they give low-powered, ratty results.

                  2. Blowmasters? The newer Delta series, especially the 50-series Delta, have no audible drone to speak of, I've got a set on the Bird and I love them. The earlier 40 series? The biggest piece of crap Flowmaster ever built.

                  3. Dynomax mufflers: I used to buy a lot of these. Don't bother if you have catalytic convertors, lol. Otherwise, I got a little weary of the solid hum of these mufflers over a decade ago.

                  4. Magnaflows: Not a bad muffler. Reminds me a bit of Borla's products.

                    Cherry Bomb Extreme, binches....

I love cruising down the highway with so much drone I can't hear the radio, carry a conversation, etc... buzzing the interior trim FTMFW!!!

And it gets WORSE when I open the cutout up.

Why would I want my MGM to sound like a mustang, when it's not.

If you want a Cuda sound, get one. If you want Dodge Charger Super Bee sound get one. The MGM harks of a classy car that should remain. My Cherry Bombs sound great, and when I get the Cats gutted even better.

Just don't try to fool yourselves that your Ford/Merc can be stretched beyond its original style.
Why not just paint it with Rustoleum and complete the ghetto blaster lookl; Of course this also applies to wheel selection...

well i am ordering 2 Thrush welded Mufflers. They sound great. Also went to my auto parts store and returned the exhaust tips as i didnt care for them. With the money i got my self 2 more parts.

A universal hanger to hold the new left tailpipe i got today.

Cost me only $20.00 for the Tailpipe and the hanger was $5.00.

When i get the right tailpipe on i will measure how long i need for the exhaust tips to come out of the bumper i will probably have to cut the tailpipes shorter.

NOTE: For some awkward reason i name my exhaust parts. The left tailpipe is named Brad, the right tailpipe is named Bill, the left muffler is named Herbert, and the right muffler is named Alfred. They all have there name sharpied on the part. I try to be creative with the parts lol.

i dont need muffler bearings. I dont think there such a thing as muffler bearings. Goes right up there with Blinker Fluid.

I have flowmaster delta 40's on my 85 and they don't seem drone at all, if they do they are just too quiet to hear. They are almost silent at idle from inside the car, and are just a barley noticeable purr at cruise on the road.
I think the stock size tailpipes really keep the sound down, and anything larger isn't needed with mild mods... if an Impala SS can make 280 HP through 2" tailpipes, I don't see why a box can't.
And of course, while getting into the gas they sound like pure sex. Not like a mustang, but like a vehicle with flowmasters on it.
I'm sure if i had huge 2.5" tailpipes they would sound a lot louder and annoying, and any drone would actually be audible.
