little bit of coolant in the oil ok?

i spilled a little coolant, i'd say less than 1/4 cup, into the oil pan as I was doing the timing cover. should I drain out the oil (its new) or is a little bit ok?

Well, you should. Just a little bit is all it takes. Sometimes you can get away with just draining the front sump, but it's up to you

just crack both plugs untill the coolant runs out. It will be at the bottom.

yeah get it out of there. If the motor hasn't been run you should be able to drain just the coolant out of the front sump. It'll be at the bottom like Pete said. Once it turns into a milkshake you might as well forget it. coolant + bearings = bottom end rebuld

Turns into acid which turns into spun bearings.

Just to be safe, it's worth it to do a complete oil change.

Ya should do an oil change after cracking open the motor anyways. Dirt and moisture can get in

Seriously man, always change the oil after any surgery on your motor. I have seen loose gasket material plug up a oil pickup.
