If you have installed an aftermarket electric oil gauge in your car, and have used pipe extensions, listen up!!!
Mine broke. The threads split where the extension threads into the oil pressure port. I ended up losing around 3 quarts of oil from this. I speculate it was caused by the pipe vibrating from driving around. The sending unit is heavy enough and the pipe long enough that the threads split from stress. Please PLEASE check yours out to make sure it is okay. I am going to switch to a mechanical gauge when I have the money.
The whole underside of my car is coated with oil, the engine compartments is was doused, and the back of my car has oil all over it.

I pulled the split open a little with some plyers so you can see it better.

My extension is 6" long.
Please check this out guys.
