    Tranny Fluid on Floor?

I installed a new speedo cable a couple months ago, and after driving it a few time i had tranny fluid on the drivers side floor... Has any one seen this before? Could it be due to the new cable? I believe it has stopped now...as far as i can tell, however it still worries me. Any ideas?

not sure if your car has cruise or not, but cruise control cars have the speedo cable connected to the back of the VSS. Where the VSS goes into the trans, it has an O ring. If that O ring is damaged, it won't seal. Not sure what the non-cruise cars have but I would assume some sort of O ring seal.

it appears to be the speedometer cable..yet its dry on the outside coming into the cabin...so perhaps somehow the fluid is traveling up the cable under the dash and dripping out?? sounds strange but thats the only thing i could come up with

Ooooh. Thought you were saying it's dripping on the floor of the garage or ground or whatever, didn't realize it was the floor of the car.

It is possible for it to travel up the speedo cable, my mom had a 197x Fiat Spyder that did that.
