That's a good question. I haven't thought of a good name yet, I've just been calling it "The Lincoln". The last owner didn't give her a name, unlike the owners of my '89 Merc.

Anyone have any suggestions for a name?

          The Painted Lady?

For some reason I keep thinking there's got to be a clever way to say big honkey

Nice, I like 'em, very 70s. It's hard to decide on one. I like "The Painted Lady", its kind of like a name for a ship. My sister called it "Leviathan".

            And now for some pictures!

Here's after the vinyl top was taken off:

I went to see it at the shop today, so far they've taken off most of the rust and replaced that panel below the rear window:

                    nope, I tried, lol.

There were lots of huge 70's fomoco 'midsize' cars, almost as big as barges, that had a 5 x 4 1/2" pattern. Maybe you saw one with Ranger wheels on it?

And d'oh, this one here is a 4, not a 6, I forgot how roman numerals worked, lol

I found a pic of the barge wheels I nabbed...

It's looking like the Lincoln will be out of the shop sometime next week.

I saw this oil on the shelf at Wal-Mart the other day for $2.57, and I was thinking about using it in the Lincoln. I currently use Mobil Super 10w40 high mileage with a purolator classic filter.

What do you guys think about this one:

In a car that has a non roller engine, I would stay far away from cheap-o oil. Its bad enough the API took away the needed friction minerals from good oil, then took away all good stuff from cheap oil.

Unless you REALLY can't afford it I would use Mobil 1 or Motorcraft Semi-Synth. If those cost are an issue go with a GOOD oil (Penzoil or the like). Also use a GOOD filter (been using Motorcraft for years without issues).

I thought that this Accel oil might have more zinc in it for the Lincoln's flat tappet engine. Do you think the Mobil Super 10w40 with the purolator is good? Would Pennzoil be better?
