the egr spacer is your problem mostlikely......it wont seal......88grandmarq tried it several yrs ago and had problems........either locate a lightning egr spacer, or buy a mustang 65mm egr spacer and mod it for the throttle cable/tv cable bracket

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

Why not a Lightning EGR? very hard to get/find and worth lt's weight in gold. I'm told?

So it's either mod a 65MM Mustang EGR or just delete the ERG? I've got no problem deleting the EGR as long as I can still get past an emmissions inspection. The thermactor is already gone!!

I'm I missing something? or does this sound right?

                  I did look thanks!!

So, does that mean I can slide an H.O. spacer between the Explorer TB and
the Explorer Upper intake, with a modded throttle bracket and this will work?
                  Without having it bored out?

If so, great!! But if I don't know what the hell I'm talking about!
please stop me before it's too late!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't the H.O. spacer 55MM?, and does that make enough of a difference to
really matter? I need to get this thing running

the lopo spacer is 55mm and the mustang is 63mm. Yes you can use a H.O. spacer and modify your throttle cable bracket.

                      go there

become a member and post a want ad for a stock egr spacer.

I did that and had one to the tune of 45 dollars shipped within a week.

Now I'm being told that while I'm at it, it would be a good idea to use a spacer or gasket between the upper and lower GT40 intakes. One that will block that EGR hole thats right in the center?

Any truth to this or real need for it?

You're not using a gasket under your upper intake?

Yes, of course I'm using a gasket under the upper intake, but it's got the hole!

What I've been told is that this small hole in the middle of the lower intake is a
hole for EGR gasses, and should be blocked off. Since the CV already has it's
EGR bolted to the EGR spacer.

Is this correct? Is this hole in the lower intake for EGR gasses?
And should I block it off?

Since I've got to replace the EGR spacer, I can do this too at the sametime
                              if I have to.

This is upper/lower and TB from a 96 Explorer I'm working with.
