    Hello from Canada!

Hello everyone I found the forums looking up parts for the car & couldn't be happier

    I have 92 grand marquis with 85127miles/137xxxkms that I purchased summer 2012
It's in pretty good shape apart from the rear bumper chipping paint/rub marks along the side of it & was owned by an elderly lady. Still had the stock tires on the front when i got it.
Im looking at getting some new suspension parts possibly the stock optionally performance parts if anyone has some info about the difference between the two & a new/scrapyard rear bumper or getting mine painted depending on price.

So far I've replaced the airfilter with another stocker whilewaiting to find educated opinions from owners on cold air intakes & spacers?
Routine stuff, bearings and all fluids apart from transmission so far as im new to car transmissions. < i've worked on ATVs and bikes previously.

I found someone selling rims & tires a few weeks into owning the car and sprung on the deal, I got a set of American racing Outlaw-I rims with 4 Yokohoma Avid touring S tires with under a 1000 miles on them for 250$ and a new mangaflow muffler/exhaust.

Im looking at swapping from a single exhaust system to a dual setup and have heard lots of different information on swapping 1992s with dual systems from 94-97s incase i cant find a 92 with a dual setup in a yard . Also wondering about running a full mustang system headers and all? I believe they run less cats and come dual. I figured one could find & remove A full system from some local scrapyard for cheap and swap it?

Anywho. nice to meet you all and hope to give and recieve knowledge and adivce on the forum

heres some pictures of before and after

      Welcome to the Party!!
It's only been 18 hours since you posted...easy mang.
You can swap any dual exhaust (H-pipe back) from and Panther, 92-97.
When I put my duals on, I just bought all new stock stuff. This may be your best bet sometimes.
Don't get a spacer. You'll waste your money.
Stainless Steel Works and Kooks make long tube direct fit headers and they are not cheap. FRPP Shorty headers will fit, but the downpipes to the cats have to be modified; as in bent and different way.
Will a Mustang exhaust work? Yes, but with heavy and extensive modification. It will NOT bolt in.
Nice color! I haven't seen a Plum one in a while.
      Two questions:
      - Where in Ontario are you?
      - How is the shift display on the cluster? Is it P R N Od D 1 or is it P R N Od 2 1?

Hello from Ohio! Welcome to GMN. That panther is looking good man, I think black looks best on those years.... it IS black right? lol. Sounds like you got one hell of a deal on those wheels too, they look pretty beasty.

Welcome! Did you have this GM listed for sale or was that the previous owner? I saw it on-line before.

Thanks for the information on the exhaust systems. I'll have to look up how much a new stock system is for the H-pipe backk,
What about a decent cold air intake system are they decent in the car?. I saw the mod on the forums with the hole in the wheel well area?

I live near Sarnia in south western Ontario. The cluster displays P R N OD D 1, Does this indicate what type of transmission i have , Either AOD or AOD-E?. I always wanted to know .

the cars a burgundy/plum/dark purple. not black . Though i've thought about painting it black.. since the bumper needs some work.

That is indeed the Blue water bridge. I worked near that location on the docks.

I put it on kijiji for a bit as i got offered an 09, but it wasn't a desirable car or brand so I'm keeping the panther.

                  Welcome, from Michigan!
Sarina, right across from Port Huron. I've seen the Blue Water bridge plenty of times while in PH, but haven't been to Canada in about 20 years.

OD-D-1 means AOD (no electronics). Which also means that you have the "bastard block" (early-early 4.6). It has a 4.6 mod motor with a small block ford (302/351) bell housing bolt pattern.

Is that unique to the 90s' MGM, because my 86 has the OD-D-1 and it's a 5.8L?

no... it's an AOD thing. The only difference is the police version uses OD-D-2

The OD-D part is the important part that seperates mechanical AOD from electronic AOD-E

                              4.2? I'm confused.
You can make a cold air intake, or modify a two piece cheapo cold air intake for a 99-04 Mustang GT. Because that's what I did.
