i think the fuel pump and ecm relay plugs are keyed different. Damn near identical but the notches on the relays are different I think. Might not be true for CFI cars but I know it is on the 86-89 models.

Nope. Had to work all day today no time to run to parts house. Even if i could have though done wasted all my gas yesterday running up there for nothing..

              Question.

You paid for a part to come to a store. They tell you be the next day. Next day get's there No part. Dum dum Screwed up and really he shoulda said 2 days. Ok Fine and dandy.
Question is. How long would a reasonable amount of time be to get them to hold the part for you. I know space is limited and all but Ugha.?

Sounds like the time I had to order a carb rebuild kit for my VV. I went to the auto parts store and talked to the guy, told him what I needed, and he said it'd be there the next day.

Went back the next day and there was someone else behind the counter, and I told her I was there to pick up something I'd ordered the day before. The convo went a bit like this:

"Hi, I'm here to pick up a carb rebuild kit I ordered yesterday."

                "Okay, what's your name?"

"Well, it's Nathan, but he never took my name..."

"Did you pay for it already?"

                "No...he didn't ask me to..."

"Oh, well you have to pay for it before we'll order it."

The guy hadn't even ordered the thing! Of course, she confirmed this by bringing me various and sundry items not even closely resembling a carb rebuild kit (brake parts, sensors, etc.) and asking "Is this it?"

                I don't shop there anymore.

Well, i just got the connector on, but im not 100% sure i didnt cross a wire.

I was puting hte butt connectors on had the yello and orange one on, and then they both poped off. This is why i hate messing with them hehe.

Anyways. My shrink tube was to small to go over the butt connectors so i was forced to use eletricale tape. whiich. really aint that swell either.

                        Question.

If you would have one wire crossed would it still turn over. And if it would would it still have the same signs as having the old one on?

Ok, my curiosity was killing me so i went and re crossed thoses said wires.

                          It fired up.

Both ways though poping is still there.. So im guessing Next bet will be to get an actuale new fuel pump regulator. And find out how to clean the ECU ECM whatever its called connector hehe.

This is why I often use wire nuts while mocking up circuits; if you make a mistake that way, it's easy to fix! I also finally got a roll of that blue heat-shrink tubing from AutoZone; it's big enough to wiggle over most 10-gauge insulated crimp connectors ... that stuff has been invaluable to me recently.

Ok I might actualy be getting somewhere now hehe.

I took the ecu connector that was connected to the fuel pump relay. hehe and decided i would try and clean it.

It like the Fuel pump regulator connector had a ton of gunk in it.
At first i sprayed just some wd40 on it. I noticed an improvment. Didnt stall and slight poping..
So lator after i got paid i decided i would get me a tooth pick, and try to get globs of the crap out. Coldent get all of it mind you. Buuuut. I got a good bit. Now it's set dead at 10btdc. And slight poping.

However.! Im sure i coldent get any gunk off the connector part that was on the fuel pump regulator.. Not sure there was any on it though to begin with hehe.

Sooo, I went and got me a can of eletricale motor cleaner hehe. Parts man recomend the one i got. cost like ehh 5 bucks or somethin.. But states it disolves gunks within secounds

Soooo Maybey this will do it. If not I will try and get a new regulator and if that dont work... Ill even get a new TPS from napa. Just for rodent killer hehehehe.

Ofc... If that still dosent do it.. See tread in OTBS

O yea question. You guys recomend that eletricale motor cleaner? Like the parts house man did?
