As for the turn signal stalk horn: it is far, far superior to the centre of the steering wheel, in my opinion. I find it more intuitive and that it's easier to operate with precision. I know I'm in a tiny minority who feel this way though. It was like that through 84.
I found I can toot tunes with my cars using the center. Lil love taps for when I want to be polite, a big wham with sustain for when I don't. Satisfying.
I did not know early boxes had the fuse box in that location. That is superior to me. The older I get, the less I like morphing into a pretzel for stuff. Adding rear defrost to my truck was my most recent reminder.

Huh... I feel saddened I don't remember that. Although I don't think I had a reason to be into the fuse box in that car. So only the Lincolns had it under the dash? Such a terrible location..

There was minimal rust, most came off with 150 grit sandpaper....the small stuff that didnt I sprayed with convertor. Can def do what you recommend next spring. I had to use a cuting disk to cut the 6 nuts off the old bumper, kinda rushed it to see what it would look like.

Nice 79! That interior is awesome. I love the fender "gills" on the early models. What are your overall plans/goals for this one? That bumper was a really nice find too

That's one heck of a nice bumper! I dig the car and the color (though I might be biased having now owned two beige box panthers. ). I feel like your rarely see the 79s anymore. Even more so for the Grand Marquis.
Thanks for all the enthusiasm gents. I was tossing and turning thinking about the 87 GM donor vehicle from which I took the bumper....went back to the boneyard and scored an elusive power passenger seat. Also fixed the broken lamp.
