    Fuel Line Replacement Recommendations

I need to do the fuel lines on the 90.

I did the 88 in 3ft steel line segments and compression fittings back in college since that was all I knew how to do and the parts store had the parts. It hasn't caused any problems but it's ugly.

I'd really like less seams if possible, and easy to bend would be a plus. Anyone use Nicopp for fuel?

Planning to use the original ends of the hard line to the newer material unless you all have better ideas?

    Any recommendations?

NiCopp fuel line. You can bend it by hand and it supports all the pressures you need. I used that for the air lines on my on board air system on the Expedition. A hand pipe bender (one of those $20 amazon ones) comes in real handy if you need tight bends that aren't kinked.

Nicopp was what I was thinking.

It is mainly the area on the framerails that is bad. Should I tie into the stock stuff that is still good with a flare and union?

honestly there isn't any good reason you couldn't do the whole thing in nylon. The Mark VII did, and its the same fuel pressures. One long run of nylon from the fuel filter all the way to that hard line that runs up the side of the engine to the fuel rail. There is existing short bits of nylon from fuel filter to the hard line, and then again from hard line to the engine. Dont' really see why you couldn't remove the connectors from those short bits and run one from end to end. Its similar on the return line side, nylon from engine to frame line and then another bit at the back where it connects to the tank.

short of that, the nicopp will do just fine. It needs to handle about 40 psi, brake systems are like 2000.

I replaced most of the lines on the wagon (everything except the steel lines on the engine itself, and all the factory nylon sections). Since I had a roll of the green-coated steel, I started with that, and absolutely hated it. 5/16" steel is impossible to work with if you don't have the special benders and dies to give it the tight factory shaping and routing. I think the return line was done in the steel.

Moving on to the supply side, I used nylon, and put it inside another piece of tubing in spots where it seemed likely to get damaged. For the transitions to the factory-style quick connects, I bought pre-made bits of tubing with those ends. I'll click through the wagon thread and see if I can find the relevant replies to drop here for reference.
