Found this one on ebay, definitely OEm FoMoCo, but I think it's a PI. so I will need modification that I have no experience doing or knowing any technician who would consider that modification. Would definitely get this one upon your recommendations if this indeed possible to fit to my 97 TC. Price seems to be just a bit moree than Dorman @$346, which is ok I think. Would appreciate any info on it. Thanks!

There is no OE available for your npi. And I wouldn't trust any old stock anyhow. And yes, that's a PI intake. Simple option, get the Dorman/SKP intake and swap in as it's a direct fit. With an NPI, the slight restriction of the aftermarket intakes vs the Ford makes no difference unless you're at WOT at all times. Dorman is only $204 at RockAuto. SKP is $141.

All the "famous brand" parts I have gotten from them are CarQuest. Not OEM unfortunately.

Wish we were a bit closer and I'm sure we could get the intake done on your ride. But I'm a solid 3.5 hours from DC.

Famous Brand started appearing around the same time as the mass liquidations of Advance Auto Parts stores, and in my experience so far, it's indeed all CarQuest stuff. Previously, CarQuest inventory usually showed up as the brand that actually made the part, then in brackets (private label package) and usually on closeout for stupid cheap. I'm guessing they ran into a large number of cases where the actual manufacturer of the CarQuest stock was not known or varied too much for a given part number, so they just list it under Famous Brand now.

It could still be something else but that's what I'd assume it to be.

Looking at the first runner from the passenger side and looking at the smaller looking ports where it sets on the head, it looks Non PI to me. Originally, they had plastic coolant cross overs too, but that one has aluminum. I'd bet money it's not an OEM. My '01 still has it's all plastic PI intake on it, never has leaked yet, but I'll keep that spare '03 PI intake that I bolstered. First runner is to drivers side front on a PI.
