U-Joint Differences

Nabbed an aluminum driveshaft from a 04 P71 last junkyard trip. As expected, the length is perfect. It has 1330-series universal joints.
I know my 88 has 1310 series joints, and I expected the 90 to as well. However, the 90 has 1330. No tow package, just a low option Country Squire.
Did they upgrade to 1330 sometime between 88 and 90?

I do not know the specifics of the when/why/option packages that result in the different u-joints, but my 91 MGM (M75 LS car without tow package, with 3.08 open diff) has the larger joints. All of my others have the smaller ones (exception - I don't know what my 88 TC has).
