That hiss your hear is from the little crescent thing for the parking brake release, they like to break. The indicator is simply a plastic collar thing on the column which when tampered with, breaks and then the spring which is constantly trying to pull the indicator to "P" ends up pulling on it harder, causing it to read wrong. A zip tie is a good temporary[permanent] fix.

It works and stops hissing when I move the indicator directly on the D.

Yeah, you'd be looking for a part that crosses 79-91 anyway. Since it specifically says 83-86 it's almost guaranteed to be the Fox cars, not the Panther ones.
Would have been an awesome find, though...

Expect the 10$ lesson.
The adjustment is under the steering columns shrouds. Probably need to remove the fuse panel cover as well. Kinda right in between the two.~David~

Its crazy that the baby LTD/Marquis WS glass is even different than the other fox body glass (from what I can tell online)
In other news I went back the the 91 CP at the JY to pull the brackets for the rear jump seats. I'm going to take the cushions out of the 84 but I didn't realize there are 2 brackets that are welded in for those seats, along with a bunch of welded in square nuts. I didn't want to cut and grind on the 84 before selling it so I cut the front brackets off the JY car and took its hinges with the locking levers.

I have used the kit before my permatex in my escort. The template they provide you with was much wider than the actual defrost grids. May wanna find an alternative to make the repair look more seamless.~David~

pinstripe brush and a steady hand? no? yeah... masking with some kind of tape and then paint on.
